Problem 1: It will say on Instrument Cluster Panel Smart Key not detected.
The not detecting or not found Smart key card problem occurs when the battery has been disconnected from the car, whether it was a dead battery or a replacement battery or any other fault which has caused the battery to die. The problem occurs in the BCM (Body Control Module) which is failing to communicate with the rest of the modules in the car which in return does not give signal to the key for it to communicate with the car.
Problem 2: Key will not lock the doors.
In this instance the key will not lock the doors if you try to lock them there will be an indication that the doors are locking however you will hear two beeps which means that the doors have not locked.
Many people or companies claim that they can overcome this issue with their non-genuine tools at a low cost, whereby all they are doing is programming the key and partially programming the BCM, however you will find that many of the modules will still not be communicating with the BCM as it has been programmed incorrectly due to either their expertise or tools.
We have had customers call us to say that someone had come out and had programmed the module and their keys but found that their washer water jets had stopped working and that the stability control warning sign had appeared on their instrument cluster, these are only some of the many problems that the customers are facing.
